Renee Hirsch, Teacher/Owner

Renee Hirsch began Shine in 2020, helping students to navigate the academic and emotional challenges uncovered by the pandemic. She has continued to use her experience as a licensed teacher in the state of Colorado, and a home school mom of 4, to help meet many children's individual learning needs. She finds immeasurable joy and satisfaction in seeing students gain the confidence and skills necessary to put them on a successful life trajectory.

Renee has a passion for teaching and Biblical discipleship. She sees the amazing potential of each child, created in the image of God. She loves fostering a nurturing, fun-filled, joyful learning environment where children can excel and become life-long learners, as well as be equipped to fulfill the God-given purposes He has planned for their life.

Besides teaching, Renee is currently working on her MSEd in Literacy and Dyslexia through the University of Central Arkansas, and is training to be certified as an Orton-Gillingham Associate. She loves doing anything outside in our beautiful state, especially hiking. She loves to travel, both to see new and exciting places, and visit her wonderful kids and grandkids! She also enjoys serving as a youth volunteer with the teens at Creekside Bible Church which she has had the privilege of doing since 2014.

Sandra Schroeder, Teacher

Sandra Schroeder was raised in East Texas where at the age of 11 started to interpret through lip reading for her mother, who had permanently lost her voice. In her teenage years, she was introduced to the deaf culture when asked to take notes for the deaf students in classes. At that time interpreters and their responsibilities became a tangible reality.

After moving to Colorado with her husband, a native Coloradoan, she continued her interest in signing by taking classes at Pikes Peak Community College, The Center on Deafness and group tutelage from the deaf and active interpreters. After four years of studying, training, and completing volunteer time in the overall language, Sandra started her seven-year stint as an interpreter for Bible Study Fellowship interpreting music, lectures, and Bible as well as doing special interpreting for functions at other churches and organizations through the years.

Stepping away from interpreting for 10 years of homeschooling her son through graduation, Sandra picked back up the baton of signing as a teacher, offering classes from a Christian perspective to students who love languages, and has continued teaching this language these past five+ years. She still interprets on request and especially loves interpreting music.
