America in the 1800’s

2nd-9th grade, 1-day/week history immersion program

The 1800’s in America was a time of progress, growth, and tragedy.  We will learn about the presidents, westward expansion, slavery, the Emancipation Proclamation, The Civil War, segregation, the industrial revolution,  transcontinental railroad, etc.  Advanced students will also be learning and discussing more in-depth history, reading information, learning to write history summaries, creating a timeline, and more. The primary goal of this enrichment day is to foster a love and joy for learning, while building relationships in a safe and positive environment. We will also enjoy lunch (brought from home) together and set aside time for group games. 

Mondays 9:00 AM -1:00 PM for students in 2nd-9th grade. (included in Shine Cottage School)

Location – Castle Rock

Spring Session 2024:  Jan 22, 29, Feb 5, 12, 26, Mar 4, 25, Apr 1, 15, 22

Cost: $500 per child for a 10 week session, in addition to $50 supply fee, due with registration by Jan 5, 2024, or save $50 for earlybird registration if received by December 14th!

 

STEM Class!

2nd-9th grade, 1-day/week science immersion program

Our science immersion day will focus on a variety of STEM activities, with a focus on problem solving, critical thinking, robotics, engineering and cooperative group skills.  We will be working with Lego robotics  (Spike Prime kit), roller coaster physics, and architectural engineering.  We will also be solving a variety of other STEM challenges!  The primary goal of this enrichment day is to foster a love and joy for learning, while building cooperative team building relationships in a safe and positive environment. We will also enjoy lunch (brought from home) together and set aside time for group games. 

Wednesdays 9:00 AM -1:00 PM for students in 2nd-9th grade. (included in Shine Cottage School)
